It butchers instead
All the might he had mustered painstakingly.
And what was left of this man?
When what had been spared
Were merely
Remnants of his face…
And in his wretched state,
He laboriously props himself up…
Dusts of himself,
And takes tentative but determined steps…

Posting this piece is way past the due date. After a month and couple of days of painful labor and flexing of quite a handful of brain cells, I jumpstarted and revved my fingers to cruise around my keyboard.
